of caricature carving in the United States. His work

is known for recognizing the humorous side of any situation

Original

member David Boone. David, a direct descendent of
Daniel Boone, designs and create original carvings from
his memories of growing up in the mountains of North Carolina. His
carvings have won many top awards including several “Best
of Show”, “Show Theme,” and “People’s
Choice” ribbons. “The Older I Get the
Better I Was” is carved in basswood and is 11“ tall,
including the base. This carving, finished with a
soft, muted painting technique is typical of David’s

There
are two Pete LeClair bottle stoppers offered as bonus lots
in our auction. Pete does not sell his carvings so
this will give collectors another opportunity to add a LeClair
piece to his/her collection. This bonus lot is the chubby-face bottle
stopper on a carved base. This bottle stopper is carved
in basswood and is finished in acrylic colors. It is
