I began my carving journey in 1997, learning from old carving books my wife and kids would bring home from the library and attended carving shows for inspiration and supplies. I was soon hooked on caricature carving.

I’ve earned several competition awards including “Artistry in Wood” in Dayton, Ohio, “CCA” in Converse, Indiana and several CCA Merit awards. By far, my biggest carving honor is being inducted into the CCA in 2022 .

I enjoy learning the many different styles of caricature carving and meeting so many good people who also share a passion for woodcarving. The friendships we’ve made along the way are invaluable. Were it not for help & the support from my Family & friends, none of this would have been possible.

I retired in 2006 from the Buick Motor Division as a tool & diemaker. I reside with my wife of 43 years, Sue, our favorite dog, Paisley, and an extremely rambunctious kitten named Spaz, outside the small town of Chesaning, Michigan. We have four adult children- two boys and two girls- and seven grandchildren.
