Eldon Humphreys
Eldon Humphreys was a retired Chief Superintendent of the Ontario Provincial Police, living in Guelph, Ontario Canada.
He started carving in 1983, shortly after attending an International Woodcarving Show and Competition in Toronto. There he was introduced to the ART of CARICATURE
Thanks also to the great teachings of friends in the CCA, he entered a competition and won a ribbon. Well, that was all the motivation he needed. He travelled to various clubs to enter competitions, take classes and to talk about Caricature Carving.
He was for many years a member of the Naples, Florida carving club. He was Past President of both the Mississauga and Lake Huron Wood Carvers and a former Vice-President of the Ontario Wood Carvers. He also was a member of the Affiliated Wood Carvers and the National Wood Carvers.
In 1996, Eldon was invited to become a member of the Caricature Carvers of America. He was proud and thrilled to accept.
Carving, and teaching carving became a way of life for him.
Eldon passed away on November 2, 2021.
