Tex started carving at the age of eight. After high school, three years in the U.S. Marines, and a B.S. in mathematics, he began carving professionally. Tex taught wood carving seminars, judged carving shows, and was a frequent blue-ribbon and best-of-show winner throughout the Southwest.
Tex was a founding member of CCA and a member of the International Woodcarvers Congress and several other organizations.
Tex passed away in November of 2002.
