Carvin’ the Rockies School of Caricature Carving
Get ready to make some chips and master the art of caricature woodcarving with three exceptional CCA carvers.
This year the CCA is proud to announce we are extending and enlarging our classes. We have added a three-day carving class to the regular CTR weekend. Join us from Monday, September 22nd to Wednesday, September 24th for an unforgettable experience from the Caricature Carvers of America (CCA), including Bob Thurston, Dennis Thornton and Mitch Cartledge.
Each day, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to learn from a different instructor, ensuring a diverse and enriching learning experience. The classes will take place in the Colorado Springs Shrine Club building where the Carvin’ the Rockies weekend show is held.
You will immerse yourself in the world of caricature wood carving, honing your skills and exploring new techniques.
To kickstart the classes, the building will open on Monday an hour early at 8am, giving you the chance to purchase roughouts for the class. The classes will proceed from 9AM to 4Pm each day. Our talented instructors will offer a wide selection of roughouts to choose from, ensuring you have everything you need to bring your carving visions to life.
